MPRO113 Multicamera Production
The students in the course MPRO113 Multicamera Production produce multicamera productions in different formats and genres. Both for recording and livestreaming.
The course gives knowledge about how the different roles in a multicamera production crew operate, as well as an understanding of the production process from planning to delivery. It gives insight in both organizational and technical aspects.
In accordance with the National Qualifications Framework the student will have following learning outcome after completing the course:
The candidate has knowledge about:
- how multicamera productions are organized
- the different roles that operate within a multicamera production
- technical equipment in multicamera productions
- relevant theory about production principals, genre, and storytelling in multicamera productions.
The candidate:
- can operate as multiple of the roles that are operating in a multicamera production environment. This applies to all aspects of production (pre-production, production and post-production)
- can cooperate with other team members in a multicamera production crew
- can organize and produce location based or studio based multicamera productions.
The candidate:
- can plan and execute varied work tasks in a multicamera production, both individual tasks and group tasks
- can discuss central production theories, research questions and solutions, both orally and written through the group production evaluations and individual production reports.
- knows about innovation in the field of multicamera production and livestreaming
Lectures, workshops, group work, self-study and multicamera productions under supervision are the main teaching methods in this course.
The scheduled teaching is mainly during school hours, however, it must be expected that some of the productions may be carried out in the evening or on weekends.
Attendance requirements:
Participation in lessons, group work and productions is mandatory. The students must have minimum 80% attendance. Details of what is compulsory are stated in the semester plan.
The students document their participation in each of the productions with a production report (400-800 words) - with what, where, who and why - and with relevant documentation that supports this. The number of productions may vary from one semester to another.
Work requirement:
Two of the production reports must be approved before the student could be signed up for the exam. The scope of each production report must be in the range of 400-800 words.
Grading will be done in accordance with Regulations governing admission, studies and examinations at Volda University College § 9-4
The course will be evaluated in accordance with the University College routines for quality assurance.
