The ITS Volda Conference grew out of a project between Volda University College and the Hogeschool KPZ in Zwolle, Netherlands. Hogeschool KPZ arranges its own student conference, Teacher in Europe Conference, on the same days as ITS Volda 2023 and cannot therefore participate this year.

The first ITS Volda was held in 2019, and since 2021 it has been an online conference.
