ERAANI201 Animation Production
Basic mastering of animation techniques. Admission for exchange students is based exclusively on portfolio assessment. All exchange students must submit a link to their online portfolio, together with the application documents.
Animation Production (ERAANI201) is a course that focuses on project-based learning. In this course, students take part in one or two animation projects related to the animation industry. They can choose a maximum of two projects from a list of animation projects that are presented to them by the course coordinator and complete them.
In accordance with the National Qualifications Framework the student will have following learning outcome after completing the course:
The students should
- attain extended knowledge about the process and production of a small animation project
- attain extended knowledge of the chosen animation technique
- get insight into aspects of the animation industry
The students should
- have strengthened their skills in the chosen animation technique
- be able to collaborate with other animators
- be able to work in a professional animation studio
The students should
- be able to collaborate with colleagues on a creative project
- be able to communicate with audiovisual texts
- be able to communicate and work in an international setting and context
Different methods may be used according to the project. The main activity in the course is individual work and team work with supervision, but workshops and weekly meetings can also be arranged.
The student shall present a plan for the project and a work schedule to the course leader before the project starts, at least two weeks after the beginning of the semester. The student is not allowed to start the project before the project is accepted.
The student shall also deliver an evaluation of the course. This evaluation will be conducted anonymously.
Grading will be done in accordance with the Regulations governing admission, studies and examintions at Volda University College.
The course will be evaluated in accordance with the University College’s routines for quality assurance.
