We invite everybody to join us and celebrate the international environment at Volda University College (VUC) and to learn more about different cultures, languages and countries. This year, we welcome guests from partner universities in the UK, Spain, Germany, Nederland, Czech Republic, Latvia and Romania.

The VUC Choir will officially open the day, followed by a welcome speech by the Vice-Rector Marie Nedregotten Sørbø. There will also be a Study Abroad Fair with stands representing a variety of countries and institutions VUC cooperates with. To top it all, Idol-Jørn, Jørn Trollebø Kvalheim, music student at VUC and runner-up in the Norwegian Idol 2014, will be perform on stage.

At 12:00 we offer a very entertaining and interesting lecture on Norwegian culture and social behaviour, as seen from an international student’s perspective. Julien Bourrelle, also known as Mondå, has 20,000 likes on his Facebook-page and lecture for large crowds in Trondheim and Oslo. He also recently published the book “A Social Guidebook to Norway” that featured in the Norwegian media, amongst others on NRK.

After the lecture with Mondå, there will be a free international lunch and everybody will have the chance of mingling around the Study Abroad Fair, enjoy the entertainment moments prepared by international students, network and get first-hand information on student exchange possibilities. The programme ends with a session in which VUC students will share their experiences as an exchange student. There will also be a student competition with a chance to win amazing prizes.
