Apply before 1st of May: dorm guarantee in Volda

From autumn 2023, as a student in Volda, you are guaranteed a dormitory if you apply for it by 1st of May. And that in the student village, which has the Norway`s cheapest housing for students.

Studentsamskipnaden in Volda is launching a new concept - a dormitory guarantee! If you apply for student accommodation before 1st of May, Studentsamkipnaden guarantees that you will get accommodation.

After the brand new student housing at Heltne was ready a couple of years ago, Studentsamskipnaden got a capacity for housing that makes it possible for them to offer this guarantee to the students.

By applying before 1st of May, students also avoid the stress and pressure of finding accommodation when the start of their studies approaches. If you do not get into the study you had intended in Volda, or for some other reason do not want to have the accommodation you have been allocated, you can cancel it by 31st of July.

Greater chance of getting the dorm you want

You are not guaranteed exactly what you are applying for, but you are guaranteed a place to live. Studentsamskipnaden will of course assign one of the homes you have applied for, if they are available.

Searching for a dorm after 1st of May? No problem! But then normal award criteria apply.

Samskipnaden has different types of dormitories, some more popular than others. The homes that are most popular go first - so it may be a good idea to apply as early as possible.

Can also live privately

There is a good selection of homes on the private market. There is a lot of activity on the Facebook page For rent in Volda and Ørsta. Hybel.no and Finn.no are also good places to rent.
