Apply for student exchange in spring 2021

VUC has still not made a final decision on student exchange for spring 2021, but we hope that it will be possible and therefore open for applications from interested students. 

The Covid-19 pandemic greatly affects international travel and education, which leads to new challenges and uncertainties for student exchange. Even so, Volda University College wish to open for student mobility if this falls within reasonable standards of safety and risk. Therefore, the application portals are now open for students interested in student exchange to/from VUC. 

– This means that we plan for student mobility in the spring of 2021, but that it has not been finally decided yet. There is still a risk that student exchange can be cancelled later on so students applying for exchange to/from VUC should have a back-up plan in case we have to cancel, says Head of International Office, Arne Humberset.

The VUC rectorate will monitor the situation closely and make a final decision on student exchange for spring 2021 in week 44 (October 26-31). 

– At the moment, it seems as student exchange between countries in Europe is more likely than to/from countries outside Europe. This because of European countries have better information sharing on infection rates, greater clarity on insurance coverage and better return options in the event of evacuation, says Humberset.
