Celebrate Christmas with other students in Volda

Studenthuset Rokken invites to a Christmas celebration for students who are left in Volda. On Christmas Eve, there will be fun, good food and a Christmas atmosphere – completely free!

The Student Association in Volda in collaboration with the Welfare Group at Volda University College invites to a Christmas party. Student assistant Anders Horvei is the one who will lead the event on Christmas Eve. He wants to be in Volda this Christmas, and maybe he will take care of more that happens at Rokken beyond Christmas for the remaining students. More on that a little further down in the case.

Social Christmas Eve

In the first instance, Horvei warmly welcomes the students to a social Christmas celebration at Rokken on Christmas Eve. The event starts at 16:00 24th of December.

Horvei says that there has been an idea among those who have worked at Rokken to achieve something like this for many years, and now it finally worked out. The student assistant looks forward to making it cozy and offering good food.

– Food is absolutely important, it is tradition, we must have Christmas food. In addition to good food, there will be package games, Kahoot, quizzes, board games and other things we come up with, Horvei says in the interview.

More things to happen?

According to current infection control rules, they are allowed to gather 20 people on Rokken. Horvei says that they know that there are both Norwegian and foreign students who have not gone home for Christmas and who are left in the study village.

– Whether the need is there remains to be seen, and the same about how many will come. The most important thing for us is that there are offers for the students that are left and that they have a place to be, he says and continues if it can possibly happen in Christmas:

– We look at the needs of the students and what they want. But I'm very open to staying open, playing board games and anything really.
