The Clinton Experience

Stephen Dougherty came to Volda to work. In addition, he wanted to play guitar and sing his own songs. He was eventually able to do so, when he met Hans Førde, Robert Steinnes and Klaus Blø. In the last three years, the band played a lot in the area – and the goal is to get recognition also outside Volda/Ørsta. The peak of their success in the area was to win the bandstand in Volda and to be allowed to participate at two Spon festivals in Ørsta. The EP “Lives of the astronauts” was recorded in Giske, in the spring of 2010 and right after, the band got its newest member: Torbjørn Frantsen (keyboard).

The band plays only songs they compose, and juggles effortlessly many genres (rock, blues, reggae, funk and jazz). On the 19th March, at Rust, The Clinton Experience will meet their public with new music.

Fatty Sunroad

The idea of Fatty Sunroad band appeared the day Aleksander and lesbian Lena received a message from the board that was organizing the student week Veka2007: “It is a matter of principle that you should not play”. The band in which Aleksander was playing was dissolved, but it only motivated him more. It was time to learn more than two notes!

Now, four years later, the band has played on NRK P3, got good reviews in Dagbladet and can be found at Svisj Norge’s list and on Spotify. Fatty Sunroad has played in Vamoose in Bergen and in Trondheim.

Their biggest public was formed of around 3500 people, at Radio Ålesudn festival. They played most recently at RaumaRock in Ålesund, on February 25th, where the jury gave them a clear first place. Another band received more sms-s, and Rauma dream shattered - this time. This motivated them even more, as the performance on the scene of Rust Club will prove. Fatty Sunroad plays rock'n’roll with tunes from Runde, Fosnavåg, Rykkin, Molde, Ørsta and Vik i Sogn.
