Deep moments – international research cooperation
Department of physical education got research visitors from Czech Republic which wish to cooperate with Volda University College on the topic «deep moments» within the phenomenon of Friluftsliv. The project is interdisciplinary and explores terms like spirituality, aesthetics, transcendence, feelings and well-being in meeting with nature.
Our approach concerns both philosophical and empirical dimensions. Different didactical “outdoor”-traditions will be studied through an experimental design (Norway, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Ireland) in order to learn more on how “deep moments” are induced in both a general and a culture specific context, as well as understanding the impact of these experiences. The project also involves cooperation across departments at Volda University College. Application for funding will be sent through research calls from EU. Project leader is Professor Ivo Jirasék from University of Palacky in Olumouc.
