This weekend was held The Norwegian Documentary Festival, or Dokfilm as we call it, is the largest and oldest festival for Norwegian documentary films. The festival was arranged for the first time in 1997 and has since then been an event where filmmakers and the audience meet every spring in beautiful Volda.

Important topics and good vibes

From the 4th of May until the 7th, documentaries on different topics were able to be seen at Rokken or at Samfunnshuset.

On the first night, the opening film "Den Siste Filmen" a portrait of Petter Venerrød on his last movie brought laughter and tears to the audience. Karianne Førland Vennerød and Olaug Spissøy Kyvik the directors and producers of the film stayed to talk with Helene Hjelseth Holen and brought her some exclusive merch.

Several topics were highlighted during this festival such as climate change, short document, relationships, the LGBTQIA+ community, music and much more. A wonderful time to discover but also to knowledge society’s issues.
