ITS Volda is held for the second time in April 2021, this time as a digital conference.

More than 100 teacher training students from Volda University College, Åbo Akademi University (Finland), Pädaogische Hochschule Tirol (Austria) and University College Absalon (Denmark) will participate in the conference. Presenters and key note speakers for the conference come from the participating institutions in addition to guest lecturers from the University of Oslo and the University of Stavanger.

– The ITS Volda-conference grew out of a partnership between VUC and Hogeschool KPZ in the Netherlands. ITS Volda was held the first time in 2019, whereas the 2020 conference had to be cancelled because of the pandemic. This year we decided to make the conference digital, which means that we can invite a record number of student participants - says Head of the VUC International Office, Arne Humberset.

Back to school - lessons learned from the pandemic

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced extreme and rapid changes for the entire education field, both in primary schools and in higher education. Literally over night, teachers had to change from in-person teaching to an online classroom. A key to ITS Volda 2021 will be to discuss what education during the pandemic has taught us. What have we learned? And what have we missed and previously taken for granted? What do we need to put more emphasis on in the future?
