Johann Roppen becomes new rector at Volda University College
Rector candidate Johann Roppen and prorector candidate Jens Standal Groven won with 82% of the votes at the rector election 3rd and 4th of December.

There were 190 valid ballots in the election.
Roppen is a senior advisor with responsibility for research and development at Volda University College. He is on leave from a position as professor with The Faculty of Media and Journalism. Groven is assistant professor and program coordinator at the bachelor degree program in PR, communication and media at the Department of Media Studies. Roppen and Groven will commence in August.
They see the debate about structure in higher education in Norway, recruitment of top competent co-workers and the University College’s regional relevance as the three most important challenges for the next four years.
