The hunt for exciting stories and local news is in full swing as the students in the BA Journalism at VUC runs their own media house over the next six weeks. The media programmes at VUC prides themselves in providing students with skills and know-how that are sought after in the media industry.

Over the next weeks, the students will join together to create stories for radio, online news and TV and to broadcast these on the air and online. The final product will be seen on the media platforms Nærnett (online news), Radio Volda, Radio Volda Podcast and Nærsynet (TV).

The journalism students will benefit from world class facilities and equipment which mirror the equipment used in the main newspapers, television channels and radio stations in Norway. Even more importantly, the students will be supervised and aided by staff with loads of experience from the media industry and insight into the latest technological developments.

The journalistic placement period got off to a kick-start with the royal wedding of Princess Märtha Louise and Durek Levett in Geiranger the last weekend of August. Already for their first stories of the semester, some of the students had the chance to interview celebrities and royals.
