There are key words for just some of the more than 20 events during Forskingsdagane at Volda University College (HVO) this year. The official opening of Forskingsdagane 2022 will take place on Friday 23 September in the library with the awarding of the R&D prize at HVO for 2022 to Professor Helga Synnevåg Løvoll.
Ocean
Every year, an overarching theme and slogan is drawn up for Forskingsdagane. This year the national theme is "Ocean".
- Through the National Science Week, we want to show the diversity of the R&D activity we have at Volda University College. It is an event that is suitable for both students and others, says coordinator and program manager for Forskingsdagane in Volda, Geir Tangen.

- The event has many different forms of communication and expression. There are, among other things, professional lectures and presentations, seminars, shared readings, café conversations, film screenings and tours, says a satisfied Tangen, adding that all events are free and open to everyone.
Cooperation locally and regionally
In addition to events at HVO in Volda, events are held at various locations in the municipalities of Volda, Ørsta, Herøy and Ålesund. The event takes place both during the day and in the evening. As in previous years, Forskingsdagane has a good collaboration with local and regional institutions and voluntary groups and organisations.
- We are very grateful for the commitment shown by all of them and the good cooperation we have, says Tangen. Many of the academic staff at the university college are also working hard to ensure that the National Science Week are the best possible.
- We have a lot of professionals, both from the university college and external, says Tangen.
Encouragement from Rector
The rector at HVO, Johann Roppen, is pleased to be able to present part of the research and development work carried out at the university, through the Forskingsdagane.
- I encourage curious people from the whole region to pick one or more events to get an insight into the varied R&D activity at HVO - and I hope the result will be many exciting conversations about subjects and research.
