New record in student numbers

Smit and Jacobsen are very excited that so many students choose Volda University College (VUC). We have never had more than 4,000 students attending, so this is a big day for us says Gonni Smit. One important reason for the success of increasing the student numbers has to be that more and more students choose to take further education, especially within teaching and media practices. 

Director Karen Lomeland Jacobsen says that it is very pleasing and important for the college to get such nice numbers. "Many students shows that we have good and relevant education for both students in the region and the rest of the country. However, Møre og Romsdal is a county with a low level of education compared to the rest of the country, so we still have a way to go."

There are about 600 master's students at the college, which is also a new record. The university college has about 250 international students.
