New rules for accommodation
For the spring semester 2011, international students at Volda University College will have to apply for rooms in the official residences directly at the Student Welfare Organization (SfS). The decision was taken between the International Office at VUC and SfS and is intended to ease the information exchange between the dorm administration and students.
For years, the International Office at VUC has been in charge of booking accommodation for all the new exchange students on campus. But with the number of incoming Erasmus, Freemover and Nordplus participants skyrocketing in the last period, it was a better solution to hand the housing responsibilities entirely over to SfS.
Separate application forms for studies and accommodation
From the current date on, international students who want to come to Volda for one or two semesters will have to apply for rooms individually. Apart of the application form for studies, they will find a form for accommodation on VUC website. They will have to fill in and send it directly to the dorm administration.
