New webpage for Nature First Tourism
As of today, students interested in nature, tourism, outdoor life, marketing and branding tourist destinations, can read about the new course Nature First Tourism, on its own website. Previous students in the course World Heritage – Geiranger, have shared their experiences trough blogs, which can be accessed via the new website.
The 30 credits course «Nature First Tourism» combines outdoor experiences and mediating, communicating and branding tourist destinations from a perspective of sustainable tourism. The course has a multi- and interdisciplinary approach to the interaction between nature, culture and man, and media used to promote this. It contains both the development of practical skills, pedagogic proficiency and theoretical insights on aspects that make up this interaction. Students will join a fieldtrip of 3-4 weeks in the Geiranger World Heritage area.
The course is suitable for students within academic fields such as teacher education, natural science, outdoor education, culture studies, social sciences and media studies.
