Opening of a new concert hall
The Music section at Volda University College invites to a free opening concert of the new concert hall, Thursday 27. February!
Tunes from the university college choir and orchestra with soloists, as well as some student bands will inaugurate the new auditorium.
– We have a great program that really shows the quality and diversity of what we do on a daily basis. We are proud of both the students, choir and orchestra - and would love to show off the new concert hall, says Svein Hunnes, college lecturer at the Department of Cultural studies.
Concerts and musical presentations have been a large part of the teaching at the Music section, and the need for upgrading the facilities has long been prevalent. – In order to provide students with an improved working environment with audio and stage facilities, there was a need for a new concert hall.
The new concert hall is located in the basement of the Kaarstad-building. In the concert hall there is a slidable amphitheater with about 200 seats, new stage curtains and a new sound system.
– We are looking forward to use the new concert hall, and to the opening concert on Thursday 27. February. Come and check us out, urges Hunnes.
