PLAYWRIGHT, PROFESSOR JESPER HALLE TO LECTURE AT VUC

As a part of the process in restructuring the Bachelor in Drama and Theatre at VUC, the department has aimed at closer cooperation with other theatre schools and to the entertainment industry. This to make the study programme even more relevant for future employment. The department is therefore thrilled to include Jesper Halle in their teaching staff.

FANTASTIC OFFER

Theatre students at VUC will be given a one-week workshop with Halle in week 38 and, in conjunction with the students’ work with script development, he will also provide students with individual feedback and tutoring on their scripts.

Considering Jesper Halle’s broad experience, this is a fantastic offer for our students, says Bech. She adds that the Department now hopes that the cooperation can be extended to the new course in Audio-book, dubbing and radio theatre, a course which already is linked with the Norwegian Public Broadcast company (NRK), dubbing studio NorDubb and the publishing company for audio-books “Lydbokforlaget”.

SOLID BACKGROUND

Jesper Halle lives in Oslo and has since 1983 written about thirty dramatic works for theater, puppet theatre, radio plays and TV, the most notable being Dagens Lys (Ibsen Award 1997) and Lilleskogen (Wilhelm Hansen Fondens Nordic playwright award 2001 & Hedda Award 2004).

His plays have been staged all across Norway for example at the National Theatre in Oslo, Trøndelag Theatre, the Open Theatre, Agder Theatre, Oslo Nye Theatre, Rogaland Theatre, and Sogn og Fjordane Theatre. Several plays have also been translated ​​and staged abroad.
