Do you need a little extra help and motivation with exam reading and writing, or do you just want to take your mind off everything to do with the exams? Through a whole week of events and activities, you can get this and more when Exam Boost does that little extra for the Volda students 8th-12th of May.

True to tradition, employees at Volda University College and Studentsamskipnaden in Volda organize nice events in the run-up to the exam.

Program

Monday-Thursday from 13:00-17:00 during Exam Boost, you can take a really good break, which in the program goes under #zerostressjoggingsuit. It takes place in the lower part of the canteen, where free snacks and drinks are served, there are also offers of relaxing activities and the opportunity for a pleasant conversation. Otherwise, you will find, among other things, sudoku, puzzles, activity booklets and coloringpapers in the library every day from 07:00 to 24:00.

Free food, movie night, yoga and game tournaments

On Monday and Wednesday there is Mat og prat, a concept where free food is served and good conversations are arranged with chat cards on the tables. On Monday, the event is in collaboration with Bygdepride, will ice cream also be served as dessert.

On Monday and Wednesday there is also Exam Yoga, where instructor Anne Natvig sets out to stretch areas of the body that become stiff from stress, sitting still and reading for exams; shoulders, neck and hips. On Tuesday, Line Katrin Moe invites to Reebot, where there will be a pleasant and relaxing hour of mindfulness.

It is also possible to relax with game tournaments at Læringsverkstaden on Thursday and Friday, when the Beat Saber tournament and Sphero race are held. Læringsverkstaden is also the organizer of a webinar about ChatGPT on Thursday that may be useful to attend.

If you want some entertainment, there are film screenings on both Monday and Friday.

Exam help

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, you can get help with literature searches and source use (APA) on the first floor of the library. The skilled library staff also provide easier help with writing tasks. You are welcome with both small and large questions and it is not necessary to make an appointment in advance.

Find focus is an event that takes place on Tuesday. Here you can get some useful tips for study techniques, with a focus on exam time.

Thoughtwriting is a course that is perfect for a stressful time. Instructor Line Katrin Moe will guide you to write closer to your own peace. Through simple writing exercises, you will get to know yourself better, learn to de-stress and achieve inner clarity.
