-       Small hemorrhages in the skin in the form of rash

Meningococcal Disease is transmitted by droplet infection, and it can take weeks before the disease breaks out. Good advice to avoid secretions will be to not to share glasses, bottles or cigarettes. Little sleep and lots of alcohol are additional factors that make the immune system weaker and one is thus more susceptible to disease. There is no vaccine against the disease, but there are good treatment opportunities if treatment is started at an early stage. The student who is infected is doing fine and the class has been specifically informed.

If you experience these symptoms please contact the school nurse by telephone 70 05 88 20 or the Emergency Department by telephone 70 05 89 00
