Student welfare: A good student life in Volda
An unforgettable study life awaits you who have chosen Volda as your study town! It is important that you settle in, both at school and in your free time, and we value the well-being of our students!
Starting a course, moving to a new town, getting to know new people, settling in, getting involved in activities and voluntary work. The very core of student life! Educational, interesting, fun and developing when everything goes smoothly.
But sometimes life swings a little to the side, or it is sometimes not so easy to be an independent student. One can feel a little lost and alone! Volda University College and Studentsamskipnaden know that this can happen to anyone, and therefore work closely together on the welfare of the students in Volda
Conversation partners
When you need someone to think out loud with, maybe you have challenges with the people you live with, or you've faced a moral dilemma - or maybe you're just having a bad day? Then it might be good to talk to one of the three ladies who have this as their job: to guide and give good advice to those who need it. We call them the student councellor, the student chaplain and the student humanist, but their names are Eli Anne, Ruth Eva and Lone. The three ladies have duty of confidentiality, and the service is completely free. You just have to remember to book an appointment!
Answers questions, guides and helps you along the way
What rights do you have as a student? And what duties do you have? What is a good study technique, and how do make a list of references? Practical challenges may also arise in the study itself, or you need to organize your day. At student services and in the library, you can get help and guidance for everything from academic writing to semester registration. You will find them at each end on the 1st floor of the Berte Kanutte house, and you can both call and send e-mails.
Academic follow-up and questions about the content of the course you are attending must be addressed to your teacher. Information about who this is can be found on each individual study offer in the study catalogue. You can also log into Canvas once you have registered as a student.
