Volda University College gets Nature Guide Education

The study programme focuses on guiding from the sea to the mountains, on new theory within the area of tourism and on the guest's perspective. The program teaches one about guiding both in summer and in winter in various nature types. The study focuses on guide work in Norwegian fjord landscape, with particular focus on local geography, local history and traditions for use of local natural resources.

The objective of the program is to qualify students for work as a nature guide in relation to Norwegian Naturguide Association's Industry Standard for nature guide (NNG).

Volda University College already offers a bachelor and a one-year program in Outdoor Education, and a bachelor and a one-year program in Sports. The Naturguide education can be taken as part of the bachelor's degree in Outdoor Education, but can also be seen as an independent concluding study. The application deadline is April 15 th.
