World Heritage Experiences course reinvented
Future exchange students at Volda University College have the chance to sign up again for the World Heritage Experience course, under the umbrella of the Faculty of Arts and Physical Education. The class has gone through major transformations, and comprises of two modules for autumn semester 2012.
Previous course Geiranger - World Heritage Experiences has been tailored to fit the requirements of a broader student group. The subject has been divided into two modules, worth 15 ects each, and together with two more modules in the spring semester, will form a year study.
The new 60 ects credits interdisciplinary year course will combine the outdoor experiences and mediating, communicating and branding tourist destinations, from the perspective of the sustainable tourism.
30 credits “Nature First Tourism"
The module for autumn 2012 is formed of two 15 study points (ects) parts: NFT101 nature First Experiences (fieldtrip in the World Heritage Area - Geiranger ) and NFT102 Mediating and communicating tourist destinations.
Lectures are organized both on campus and online. In addition, obligatory lectures will be carried out in one/two week blocks in August/September and in October, with compulsory tutoring, lessons and group work.
