PROMOTING VOLDA IN THE WORLD

The idea to have an animated film made with the purpose of promoting Volda as a place to study was conceived last year by Cecilie Wilhelmsen. It was then introduced to the outstanding guys at Raindog Studios and they were immediately excited.  As former students who had all been on exchange, they knew a lot about how it feels to arrive at a new place. They also agreed that Volda is a unique place to live and study, something that more people should be able to experience.

We sorted out funding and early this spring the ideas started to take form, a process that accelerated towards the summer. The film was ready in early September, in time for promoting Volda at a large international conference in Istanbul and to premiere it at the animation festival, Animation Volda.  

The film, with the main character Max, tries to convey the genuine feeling of what it is like to be a student in Volda. It shows the uniqueness of the town, the close and intimate campus, the varied academic opportunities, social life and of course, the beautiful surrounding nature.

We are overjoyed with the work done by Raindog Studios and our hope is that this film will provide increased positive attention to Volda.
