In order to make international students feel at home and fall more in love with Norway, the International office, in collaboration with Pangaia, arranged an unforgettable trip to Geiranger on the 21st of September. Here they were able to experience Norway and spend some extra time together in order to get to know each other better, because it was the first big opportunity to gather NUS and Erasmus international students.

The students were so amazed about this place that one student from Ukraine said: “It’s a first time in my life when I have experienced such a magical place, where the entire area seems to be a continuous attraction, where impressions wait around the next turn or the next sightseeing.” Surroundings were so magnificant that noone can pass without stopping and taking some photoes. While discussing with one student from Czech Republic, suddenly we came to the idea that camera makes everyone a tourist in other people's reality, and eventually in one's own.

You’ll probably ask why it’s so. Well, we have thought about this also and came to the point that sometimes you look at a place and think that it’s a simple one, but when you take a picture of it, it transforms into something magical. When I look at some of the pictures from our trip I feel like it’s a combination of photo and painting.

Every single student liked this trip and ware hoping for more trips full of colourful memories and moments with plenty of smiles and happiness, such as this one. For some of them such an experience was an absolutely new one, because they had never before had the possibility to be at the same time with such a multi-cultural group of people. It made them happy and gave them new forces in order to work harder on their assignments.

Regarding myself, this is my second trip to Geiranger and I loved it a lot. First time I was part of student/guests group, who were admiring the surroundings and having pleasure from everything. This year my pleasure increased, because I not only had the possibility to see the beautiful places of Geirangerfjord again, but also because I had the opportunity to be a part of organizational team and during the trip to try the role of guidig for new students and international guests. This trip was unforgettable. I’m happy being a part of Volda University College.

In the name of every participant I would like to say “Thank you” International office, Volda University College and everyone who made our day so special.
