Om emnet

In this course, the philosophies, role understandings and practices of media professions are discussed. The course addresses how media practices are legitimized and get – or invoke – a particular role in society, including in relation to social, cultural and political processes. Through critical perspectives, these assumptions are questioned – for example in relation to the role of the state, the market, ethics, and art. The subject is discussed from two different standpoints in parallel: with a basis in the individual worker’s professional understanding and with a basis in how media practices affect and are affected by media society’s various participants.

The course overlaps with DJM305 The Documentary and Journalism`s Role in Society.
