Braksuksess for internasjonal kunstnerkonferanse
Tilbakemeldingene etter 6th International Teaching Artist Conference (ITAC6), som Seanse – senter for kunstproduksjon ved Høgskulen I Volda var hovedarrangør av, sto til terningkast seks.
6th International Teaching Artist Conference (ITAC6) var lokalisert på Sentralen Oslo, – i Marmorhallen samt i tillegg åtte andre rom for 60 parallelle seksjoner/ kunstverksted. Konferansen hadde "ART AS A CATALYST FOR CHANGE" som slagord. Den ble åpnet av styreleder for ITAC Collaborative Yonglun Liu (Singapore Arts Council), Marit Ulvund (senterleder Seanse) sammen med musiker Hildegunn Øiseth.
200 deltagere fra 36 land
Statssekretær Odin Adelsten Aunan Bohmann holdt en meget god åpningstale som imponerte de langveisfarende gjestene.
Konferansen hadde mange kunstneriske bidrag med barn/unge og andre kunstnere; som for eksempel Subsdans, DNA?AND?, og KACES dansegruppe.
Samarbeidspartnere for konferansen internasjonalt var ITAC Collaborative v/styret ledet av Yonglun Liu, Singapore Arts Council, og med representanter fra 20 land deriblant Marit Ulvund, Seanse. Nasjonalt var Kulturtanken og Norsk Kulturskoleråd hovedsamarbeidspartnere. Konferansen ble en stor suksess og samlet om lag 200 deltakere fra 36 land!

Til sammen med bidragsyterne var 260 personer involvert i programmet, pluss Lørenskog skolekorps med 40 flotte ungdommer!

Støttet kunstnere fra trange kår
Seanse valgte å støtte reise, opphold og konferanseavgift for hele 40 kunstnere, og dekke konferanseavgift for 28 kunstnere - alle med antatte bidrag i konferanseprogrammet. Disse kom fra land hvor kunstnere har svært liten mulighet for å søke og få støtte.
– Dette mener vi var avgjørende for å sikre inkludering og et mangfold av nasjoner til stede i Oslo, og var sterkt medvirkende til den uvurderlig stemning, farge, mangfoldighet i uttrykk vi fikk oppleve. Det har videre bidratt til mange nye samarbeid på tvers av land og kontinent, sier Ulvund.
– ITAC6 ble en stor og verdifull kunstopplevelse med et inkluderende læringsrom! Flere deltakere og bidragsytere har fortalt oss at dette er den beste konferansen de noen gang har vært på, og evalueringene er overveldende positive, avslutter Ulvund.

This community of teaching artists are nothing short of brilliant!
