Knowlegde provides security. It is crucial to be ready in case something were to happen, so that you can safeguard both yourself and people around you. Sikresiden.no, the information portal forcrisis information and security training in the university and college sector in Norway, is used by Volda University College (VUC).

At Sikersiden.no, you can receive both direct and preventive training as well as suggestions for what to do in an emergency. For instance, first aid, violent circumstances, sexual harassment, online fraud, occurrences at the beginning of your education, or incidents while you are travelling, could fall under this category. Additionally, you may find crucial phone numbers for the emergency services and Securitas, the company in charge of security at the VUC, here.

You should be able to figure out what to do in an emergency in less than two clicks and 100 words

All HVO students and staff are urged by Christine Holm Berntzen from Sikersiden to include Sikresiden among the apps on their phone's home screen so that information may be promptly and effectively retrieved, either for prevention or after the unfortunate situation has just happened.

– If we can all offer a bit, we can do a lot more as a group! According to Christine, it's about everyone taking responsibility for making study and work days safer for everyone.

To make sure that everyone has access to the knowledge they need in a crisis or emergency situation, she collaborates with numerous institutions in the university and college sector to provide Sikresiden.

– You should be able to figure out what to do in an emergency in less than two clicks and 100 words. It can be that someone requires immediate first aid, that there is a immediate action rapid deployment (IARD) event going on, that you have been hacked, that you have had items stolen while travelling, or that you are concerned that you or another person might be contemplating suicide. Then, she argues, you know how to act.

– Our goal is to develop action skills!

How to use Sikresiden?

Two information categories are available on Sikresiden: "Emergency" and "Preventive."

You will be taken directly to the "Emergency" section if there is a crisis or undesired scenario that is ongoing or has already occurred. You can find here all the information you need to fix the issue or to contact the college or relevant authorities.

We strongly advise completing the different safety lessons in the preventive category whether you are an VUC employee or student. How to stop unintended occurrences is described in depth here.

The collaborative security portal for crisis information and security training for universities and colleges is called Sikresiden. Instead of having to provide material and training individually, each individual working on the topic at the many institutions in Norway has teamed up to develop the safe side collaboration, which is by and for the sector.
