Role and tasks as a student trustee
As a trustee, you are a voice for the students rights and interests at the University College
Your assignments
As a trustee, you have some fixed tasks, and some tasks that are shaped based on the needs of your fellow students.
- You become a member of the study quality committee at your study programme
- You take part in general assemblies for the trustees, where you can raise questions and discuss common matters
- You can raise issues on behalf of your cohort, e.g. linked to teaching, timetables, exams, students rights etc.
- You can easily report matters to the Student Parliament
- You contribute to a good information flow between the student body, the University College and the Student Democracy
- You can take the initiative to social activities for your class. This is not mandatory, but something many students appreciate. Examples could be a joint lunch in the canteen, a nice gathering at the end of the semester, a sunday trip around Rotevatnet or an informal meeting point at Rokken cafe.
Your role
As a trustee, it is important that your fellow students can trust you in handeling matters in an orderly manner.
- You are part of the foundation stone of the Student Democracy, and one of your most important functions is to catch things that are happening among the students in your department, so that we can deal with challenges that may arise
- You have a duty of confidentiality. What you learn of sensitive personal information must not be shared with unauthorized persons
- As a contact between the students and the University College, you help the student democracy to take the pulse of the courses at the University College
- You are entitled a valid exxemption from your courses if they collide with meetings related to your position as a student trustee
- You can get a certificate from the Student Parliament at the end of the year
