Biography
Jon started his career in television production. He has produced feature films, directed documentaries and been head of production on a multitude of productions for Disney, BBC, Channel Four, Rapture TV and ITV in the UK. For 10 years he ran a production company in the UK which produced specialist factual documentaries and a news channel, along with interactive digital media and apps. He has worked as a consultant on digital publishing and learning strategies with Pearson Innovation, the Dept of Education and Law Without Walls.
Jon has a Bachelor with Honours in Professional Broadcasting from Ravensbourne University and a Masters in Education. In addition, he has studied executive management at Oxford University.
He hosts the podcast Grit, about people who work in the international creative industries
Teaching
Jon teaches media production at bachelor and masters level. His focused areas are creative producing, social media platform distribution, production management, and media concept development.
Research
Jon's research areas are in media futures, innovative pedagogy, talent and skills development, creativity and digital culture. He has given conference talks on these topics around the world.
