Did you know that you could attend a performance right here at the campus? Or how about going to a play? Maybe you'd enjoy going to an art gallery? The department of cultural studies (AKF) students at Volda University College engage in a wide variety of extracurricular activities each semester as part of their coursework.

You will receive updates on where and when there are events if you follow @hivolda on Instagram and Facebook. Keep an eye out for posters advertising it around campus, as well.

House concerts

The HVO music department features a symphony orchestra, choir, professional recording studio, and excellent practise spaces where students can improve as performers. The University of Volda organises concerts for both the general public and closed audiences where the students can perform. They recently hosted a Sting performance where the students sang several songs by Sting and The Police in groups. Here you can view concert video content:

House theatre

The house theatres at the new Kaarstad building are renowned for their dynamic student environment at Theatre and Drama. They have their own facilities, including a sound studio and workshop, a wardrobe and scenography warehouse, and black- and white-box theatres. These collectively make up the production components at the house theatres where they can hone their collaborative, creative, and technical talents. Everyone may enjoy the plays, which include children's and puppet theatre, Christmas theatre during Advent, and theatre with an educational learning focus.

Exhibitions

Many intriguing projects are being worked on by the students at Design, Art, and Craft. Numerous types of art and design work are produced in the recently renovated and well-equipped facilities. They frequently hold exhibitions, like as the bachelor theses exhibition at Gamlegymnaset this spring:

The creative students in the media production and animation lines occasionally showcase productions in addition to the work of the AKF students. In such scenario, it is typically the Hivolda YouTube channels where these are uploaded, thus we advise subscribing to them!
