Teaching takes place online through the Learning Management System Canvas. The course is built up in four modules corresponding to the four levels of grammatical description on which the course focuses. Each new module builds on the previous one. Each module is studied over a specific number of weeks, and for each module, a reading guide, teaching videos and practice exercises are published on Canvas for self-study. There will also be non-obligatory live seminars. The dates for these will be published on Canvas. As the live seminars are held on Zoom, it is important that students have access to a computer, a web camera and microphone. The Zoom sessions may be recorded and published on Canvas afterwards.

Assessment requirements

In order to be eligible to sit the exam, the student must pass three assignments - one group oral presentation and two individual assignments - within set deadlines which will be posted at the start of the semester. The nature, length and structure of the assignments will be published on Canvas at the start of the semester. If an assignment is not approved the first time, the student or group will be given a second chance to complete it, normally within two working days.
