The paper must contain a bibliography of relevant literature, composed in collaboration with the supervisor/tutor.

Required prerequisite knowledge

75 ECTS credits from four basic courses in English (ENG141, ENG142, ENG143, ENG144 or equivalent thereof) and at least one 10-15 credit specialization course in English literature/culture, either ENG203, ENG205, ENG206 or equivalent.

Course content

This course consists of one individual, written thesis. The BA thesis must be 7000-9000 words (not including the reading list and appendixes). The BA thesis must be written in English.

Working and learning activities

The student must choose a topic and a thesis question in collaboration with their tutor, from whom they will receive advice underway in the process. Otherwise the student is expected to work independently. 

Assessment requirements

The student must submit an outline of the topic, the thesis question and suggested reading material within a deadline agreed with their supervisor/tutor at the beginning of the term. The student must participate in two-three supervision/tutoring meetings with their appointed member of faculty. Ideally, these should be face-to-face meetings, but online and phone meetings may be substituted if necessary. The thesis must be submitted by the appointed deadline.
