This course looks at the client side of webdesign. Focusing on the visual design and user experience, the class covers how to work methodologically from idea to finished webpage.

The candidate knows how to:
use Adobe Creative Suite to create design sketches and elements of
webpages, focusing on usabillitystructure content on webpages, using HTML
control the appearance of content on webpages, using CSS.
- implement Javascript on webpages to add interactivity
The candidate can:
plan and execute a webdesign project.
- structure content using hypertext
We use problembased and student-active methods for learning. Activities will be a combination of workshops, seminars with industry specialists, online selfpaced learning and web projects working both individually and in groups.
Documented completion of online selfpaced courses, specified in semesterplan.
Obligatory pariticipation of the classes, as specified in the semesterplan.
Each student is to present a part (teacher-approved) of course litterature (syllabus).
Active participation in a group project, resulting in a website. Deadline probably 04.12.2017, unless else is stated in the semesterplan. In addition to the product(website), each group hands in a project plan and a short report assessing how the plan was followed. The project-files is to be stored at Høgskulen’s servers and will be locked after submission.
Grading will be done in accordance with the Regulations governing studies and examinations at Volda University College.
The course will be evaluated in accordance with the University College’s routines for quality assurance.
