  • THE RESEARCH DAYS 2014

    The Research Days 2014 is arranged by Volda University College from 19th-23rd September. This year the audience can participate in jazz seminars, experience a Pecha Kucha night at the student house Rokken, or taste traditional Norwegian food at the Volda Bygdetun museum. The program also includes a number of interesting lectures and seminars, held by faculty members at Volda University College.

  • International students in Geiranger

    International Office at Volda University College (VUC) arranges a trip to Geiranger every autumn. This year 80 international students joined the bus and ferry ride to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Geiranger.

  • Buddy Week 2014

    This year’s Buddy Week will take place August 19-24 and has been given the theme «Adventurous Volda».

  • Joint PhD degree approved

    The application for a joint PhD degree between Volda University College and Molde University College has been approved. This was decided by the national quality assurance body, NOKUT, on June 19th. The first students will be able to start in the autumn semester 2015, at the earliest.

  • New book: «Irony and Idyll» by Marie N. Sørbø

    Jane Austen's worldwide popularity is not least due to the remaking of her novels for the visual media. Of the fifty-odd Austen related productions since 1938, forty-three of them adapt her novels to the various screens of cinema, television, computer and tablet. In the present book, Marie N. Sørbø investigates the function and targets of irony in two novels and seven films.

  • JOURNALISM STUDENTS IN NORDIC-RUSSIAN COOPERATION

    For three days 17 journalism students from Volda, Stockholm and Nizhny Novgorod in Russia have taken part in a workshop to learn about multicultural understanding and human rights.
