About

The aim of the Arts in Education study program is to explore innovative practices to secure quality in arts education. With an interdisciplinary approach to arts practice the study focuses on the role of arts in education and the community. The role of arts in education is discussed from a variety of perspectives. A practical as well as theoretical approach will be explored to address the issues of philosophies on art, learning in and through the arts, and the role of the art educator or Teaching Artist.Related to the study’s interdisciplinary approach the AIE students will be expected to individuate their course of study according to a wide range of art forms, which includes visual art, creative writing, drama, dance, music, animation, film and media.                                       Three courses are offered in the program: Arts and Understanding, Leaning In and Through the Arts, and Teaching Artist.
