Students who have equivalent knowledge from other universities, colleges or private school drawing courses can apply directly on this course (with skipping ANFIG101 and ANFIG102). Applicants must then deliver portololio for approval
 

Course content

Through drawing exercises with guidance and lectures, the goal is to master observational capability and advanced problem solving in drawing. The student should learn how to apply knowledge from drawing classes to work in animation and other artistic fiields.

Learning outcome knowledge

Students will

  • have advanced knowledge of modelling, movement, balance, weight and composition in drawing
  • have a good understanding of how anatomy visually influences body and information seen on the surface
  • understand that drawing can be informative, objective or more subjective and illustrative

  • be able to capture ideas and visualize solutions
  • be able to draw with a style
  • be able to make use of perspective drawing

  • have developed the ability for independent, practical problem solving
  • have an analytical approach to their drawings

  • have practical experience with more independent work in creative process and aesthetics
  • have advanced drawing abilities that will help to incorporate acquired knowledge in animation education and work including other artistic studies
     
Working and learning activities

The course is organised as practical exercises by drawing a life model and theoretical part. A teacher will guide students through the practical exercises. The practical part  is a direct continuation of the practice of Figure drawing 2. Lectures will be held on Norwegian and English for foreign students.

By the end of the semester the students will choose 5 substantial drawing exercises that are delivered for a portofolio exam.

Expenses

Students need to have charcoal, kneaded eraser and fixative. Additionally, they need to have a coloured medium of their own preferences. Easel, drawing board, extra charcoal and paper is provided by the school
