Volda University College (VUC) offers two Ph D programs. In collaboration with Molde University College (HiM), HVO provides doctoral education in Health and Social Sciences. The Ph D programme Education, Language and Culture was launched on January 1, 2025. Both Ph D programmes announce research fellow positions annually. Available positions are published here.

PhD in education, language and culture

Volda University College has many employees working on doctoral projects. Most work as PhD candidates in three- or four-year programmes. Additionally, some university lecturers work on their doctoral projects during their research time in a five-year programme. Some doctoral projects are linked to larger research projects at the university.

The PhD candidates at VUC are organised in their own PhD Association, which has a representative on the Research Committee.
